EVERY 10 Dzul Hijjah, all Muslims who do not observe Hajj celebrate the feast of Eid al-Adha. On that day, Muslims are very sunnah to command where they slaughtered qurban animals for later doled out to all Muslims in an area. Then what exactly is Qurban?
Qurban comes from the Arabic language, "Qurban" which means close (قربان). The sacrifice in Islam is also called al-Udhhiyyah and ADH-Dhahiyyah which means the slaughter, such as camel, cow (buffalo), and goat slain on Eid al-Adha and the days of Tashreeq as Taqarrub or close to the God.
Eid al-Adha is the second big day for Muslims. Idul Adha is also often referred to as the Feast of Hajj or the day of sacrifice.
It would be better to interpret this Idul Adha day not as narrow as it is.
Eid al-Adha as a form of increased habluminallah and Hambluminannas. Or draw closer to God and draw closer to social relationships.
Thus, through the slaughter of this sacrificial animal as a form of human endowment to set aside some of his property in sharing. With a heart that is resigned and sincere, of course the sacrificial flesh that enters the body of the recipient also becomes a beneficial flesh.
Then with sacrificial meat also, can be a means of sharing a society that has an excess (capable) of being able to help the community who is less capable.
Slaughter the sacrifice as a form of devotion and gratitude for the grace given by God. It is also a means of bringing closer to God.
