Baiturrahman Grand Mosque
Masjid Raya Baiturrahman is the main symbol of the city of Banda Aceh located south of the River Krueng Aceh. The mosque with a tower as high as 35 meters with 7 domes is most visited by people and tourists outside.
Masjid Raya Baiturrahman was built in the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda in the period 1607-1636, which is very active in developing Islamic religious teachings within the territory of Aceh Kingdom. Historically, the mosque was once used as a base and defence place for the Aceh war forces against the Dutch colonial government.
The Grand Mosque of Baiturrahman is also a silent witness of the Tsunami wave on 26 December 2004 ago.

Located on the street of Iskandar Muda, Banda Aceh. The Museum still holds many memories that never escaped from Aceh. If there you will see the debris of memories stored in the photos, sound recordings to the structure of the building that is designed M. Ridwan Kamil.

When the stunami occurred on the 26th of Desenber 2004, the vessel was dragged to a 9 meter high tide, which shifted to the heart of Banda Aceh by 5 kilometers. The ship was crashed into the midst of the residents ' settlements.

The six-square-shaped buildings resemble flowers and three-storey, with the main level of the crown being constructed in the 16th century (1607-1636). On the wall there is a low-sized entrance that is always in a cursed state. From the hallway there was a ladder to to the third level of Gunongan.

The fortress has a square shape of about 70 square meters, with a height of 4 meters and a sturdy wall with a thickness of about 2 meters. With its unique shape there are small aisle rocks made of lime concrete.
